iPad – great or not so great?

I know most of us on this blog community are into music and technology.

So I thought I’d see what you are all thinking and feeling about the iPad.

Is it the best thing since sliced bread?

Or is it one more gadget, that we just don’t need?

I’ve got an iPhone and a MacBookPro… Other than it’s e-reader functionality I’m not sure I can think of much value this would add to my life…

What do you think?

Brand New “Song Story” Videos

Hi friends,

Many of you have watched my “EPK” video (Electronic press kit – meaning, a video piece that gives you a window into my heart and music). Following that, we filmed ‘song story videos’ for each song on my new album “Eternity Invades”.

So the videos tell you what was going on in my heart and life, that caused me to write each song. I also play a bit of the song acoustically too.

This is the first Song Story, and it’s about Break our Hearts, one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s a song about social justice, about us needing to live the lyrics we sing and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Hope you enjoy it :)

Here are the lyrics… I wrote them as a challenge to myself, and I hope they are a challenge to all of us.

Break Our Hearts

It’s time for us
to live the songs we sing
And turn our good intentions into action
To bring the kind of worship you desire
And move beyond our self-absorbed distractions

The mountains are shaking
Could this be a great awakening?

Break our hearts
With the things that break Yours
Wake us up to see through Your eyes
Break our hearts
With the things that break yours
And send us out to shine in the darkness

It’s time to move outside our comfort zone
To see beyond our churches and our homes
To change the way we think and how we spend
Until we look like Jesus again

The mountains are shaking
Could this be a great awakening?

Break our hearts
With the things that break Yours
Wake us up to see through Your eyes
Break our hearts
With the things that break yours
And send us out to shine in the darkness

Here I am, send me
To be Your hands and feet
Here I am, send me, I will go

What are your thoughts on the relationship between worship and justice? Do you think that its enough to sing things to God, or do we need to live it out too? Do you see that in specific parts of the Bible? How are you trying to live out your worship through your lifestyle choices?

Love,

Vicky
