Okay, I don't have a suggestion for a song at this hour. (Been a long day…) But I was astute enough to notice that you are backwards in the photos. You don't play lefty do ya Vicky? And I think the Apple logo has the bite on the right.

Spring Harvest! woooooop!

I think a topic that is joy. The only songs of the top of my head I can think of about joy are the old church camp song “I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart (where?) down in my heart…” etc. and Crowders “You Are My Joy”. There very likely could be many more, but not that pop into my head.

I think joy is something that is very lacking in todays world. Working these past few months at a Christian bookstore I see it is lacking in a huge portion of the church as well. A life in Christ should be one of joy, it os one of the fruits of the spirit after all. Maybe a melodious reminder would help… and the most joyful (not sure why) genre has to be folk/bluegrass. How can you not smile during a banjo filled hoedown?

Lately thinking through study the life of David was man after God's heart Psalm 37:3-9. The consistent theme Psalm is trusting in God's omnipresence for daily needs no matter what season in our lives.

Spurgeon commentary on passage cool stuff to say about this passage of scripture.
TITLE of David. There is but this word to denote the authorship; whether it was a song or a meditation we are not told. It was written by David in his old age Ps 37:25, and is the more valuable as the record of so varied an experience.

SUBJECT. The great riddle of the prosperity of the wicked and the affliction of the righteous, which has perplexed so many, is here dealt with in the light of the future; and fretfulness and repining are most impressively forbidden. It is a Psalm in which the Lord hushes most sweetly the too common repinings of his people, and calms their minds as to his present dealings with his own chosen flock, and the wolves by whom they are surrounded. It contains eight great precepts, is twice illustrated by autobiographical statements, and abounds in remarkable contrasts.

Psalm 37:3-9

3 Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.

5 Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
6 He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

7 Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.

8 Stop being angry!

Let's see. New themes? Much of your lyrics so far have been worship/praise and focused from us toward God. Absolutely love it, and you do that so well. Wish I had your CD jackets right here to reference for more specifics.

If you're wanting to branch out though, what about other vantage points? God to man (Job comes to mind – and maybe some dialog of man back to God as well); man to man (there aren't enough good relational – of whatever type other than to God – songs out by Christian artists if you ask me), etc. Could be something to try at least to get some other creative juices flowing; maybe this other perspective could be used in just one section of a song or something…

Do you have any songs that deal directly with the theme of love (in all of it's various forms, and/or maybe even the absence of it in some places)? Love is obviously a pretty core thing in Christianity. :o) What about some other core values/beliefs? I'm trying to remember… have you written a creed-type-song? Seems like you'd be pretty well-equipped for that if you haven't done that already, unless you think it's already been done enough.

Your songs as a whole are very upbeat and positive – talking about the greatness of God and your desire for Him. That's wonderful, and not something I'd (or I imagine – you'd) change.

This is all fairly vague, but hopefully it'll spark some new thoughts or direction or approach if that's what you're going for.

I don't have an idea for a song (yet). but girl, it looks like you're playing lefthanded on the pics! I thought: that's how I should be playin' the guitar (if I had one:)!

As for your 'vote' question on twitter, I don't even like beer so I'll go for the peanut butter and banana, never tried it though! you might like this as well: peanut butter with chocolate spread, that's yummie too;) or with chocolate sprinkles, but than you should find a Dutch shop somewhere!

Hi Vicky, just finished reading rest of your entry!:-) You trio are awesome worshippers of Christ! Per suggestion, Psalm 37 (one of the treats the Lord gave me today and I love scripture songs) and the like are awesome!! These are the songs He’s given you that I have on repeat:

- Turn Your Eyes (Yes, He’s beautiful!!!!!!)
- Search Me
- Above All Else
- Yesterday Today & Forever

I love them because the Lord uses the words to drown out the noise surrounding me and ushers me into His holy presence…where I belong, at His feet, at the foot of the cross.

i love this because, to me, it symbolizes the longing heart of the church and how we should be “faint” with love for Jesus. i love songs that show that kind of longing and desperation for Him =)

I'd love to see someone write a song based on Titus 2:3-5 or other Scripture geared towards women, challenging them to live out the biblical model of womanhood.
