Deliverer – A Video Blog About The Song

Deliverer – Vicky Shares About The Song from Vicky Beeching on Vimeo.

Hi friends!

Hope your week is going well. I’m spending mine in Eastbourne England, in meetings with Spring Harvest (Europe’s biggest Christian event) dreaming and planning about this year’s event (April 2010) and next year’s event (April 2011). I love being part of this team!

Thanks SO much for your ongoing support of the EP. Looking at the stats on which song of the 3 is the most popular, Deliverer seems to be winning the polls! So I’m focusing on Deliverer in this blog post.

Ever since we recorded the EP, I’ve wanted to make a video about each of the three songs, to give you an introduction, a guided tour of sorts, to each song!

So here is the first one! The video contains three parts so feel free to skip if you want to focus on only one or two sections. First I play the song on my acoustic guitar so you can see how to play it on just one instrument… sometimes it’s hard to imagine a song without the full album arrangement, so here it is, stripped down and simple!

Second I show you how to play the chords (piano players I apologize this is guitar-led…but my piano skills are bad!! Hopefully you can translate these chords onto keys!).

Third, I give you the story about why the song was written… so you can get some insight into what inspired me in the writing process.

Hope you enjoy… Has “Deliverer” touched you? Why and in what way? I know some of you have used it at church – I’d love you to share when you used it, and how it went!

Love,

Vicky

Isn't it fantastic that no matter where we are at, what we have done or how we are feeling we can come before God in worship and know His love and the freedom He gives. Great song, I love the truths it states about the blood of Christ and the freedom and healing we have through Him. Hoping to use it soon with our congregation!

    Thank you

I can't wait to introduce this one! It's so powerful; first a heartfelt prayer and then a declaration of truth about freedom in Him. On top of that it's so accessible and singable without being boring! Thanks for sharing the chart and the capo chords as well. I've already scribbled them in over top of the chart you put up. (I like playing in G shapes rather than C shapes as well)

    Hi Vicky
I heard this song for the firse time at the youth work conference 2010, it was beautiful and moving. I love the fact that ‘where the spirit of the Lord is’ is every where so we can find freedom and healing in every part of our lives. Thankyou for listening to God so that he can talk to his children through your songs.

I lead worship for a Christian recovery program every Friday night and I’m always looking for songs such as this that speak of the power of God to break every chain! I’ll introduce this one on Friday and I know it will speak to them as it has to me. People who have experienced freedom in Christ from bondage of any kind know how to worship. It’s always a moving experience.

This song is amazing, and a really inspiring story. I am hoping to try and learn how to play this. I have been teaching myself guitar  - Does anyone know where I can  find chord diagrams for the ‘g-shape chords’? Thanks
