Oh fun! Speaking of pictures of family, I'm just working on touching up some senior pictures for my second-to-youngest sister. This is one of several tasks on my plate that have been languishing there too long. My new goal is to have this one all wrapped up in the next couple days.

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm the oldest of five kids, and my youngest sister is almost 21 years younger than me! I love all of my siblings dearly, and – though I've greatly enjoyed many things about getting to work in Seattle for a while – I wish I could see them more often than one weekend a month. My brother and sister-in-law just had their first baby (first grandchild on both sides of the family). Little Jason Jr. is absolutely adorable, and I wish I could spend more time with him and both of his wonderful parents in Chicago as well!

As far as extended family goes, I've got lots of pretty great uncles/aunts/cousins. My only living grandparent is my mom's mom, who came back to Michigan from Arizona several months ago, and it's been great to be able to see more of her these days. She is part of the rich Christian heritage I've been blessed with, and also part of where I get my love of music. Earlier in her life she used to regularly write songs which were published in some of the popular chorus books of the time, and I have many happy memories of going over to her house for the afternoon and spending time together at the piano and organ.

I've got a brother and a sister. They are both married and my sister has 2 kids, a 4 year old girl (who is fighting leukemia) and a almost 2 year old boy. So, I guess including my parents there are 9 of us in the immediate family.

Extended family is bigger. My dad's side there are 15. 6 of those live in the Caribbean though (they are Scientoligists) and I never see them. My mom's side there are 41 I believe? That's the gang that gets together on the holidays for an amazingly loud time. We actually have a family band at Christmas every year. It's quite the scene. (2 french horns, 2 tubas, 2 trombones, 4 trumpets, 2 oboes, 2 flutes, piano, a tenor sax and a clarinet) Following the family band it's on to the Hallelujah Chorus. I have a one of a kind family. But my grandma (the only one I have left) loves it so we keep it up.

    Vicky,
Have a great time in England. I'm happy you'll get to see your family. There's only four people in mine. :) Then of course I have tons of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Have a safe flight.

Great to see pics of your family! How's the jetlag going btw?

Last year I said to myself: whenever Vicky is in the UK again, I HAVE to find a way to hear her songs live. And now that you are near enough to the Netherlands, I'm not going, how dumb is that!! I wish I could go but I already agreed to go to Flevo Festival with some friends so, I hope you'll be back in the UK later on this year.

I have an older brother and a sister-in-law and they have 2 little boys, and there are 2 younger sisters.
My extended family is bigger. On my dad's side are 13 people. There are also a niece and aunt of my dad who live in the USA with their family, but I only know the niece and aunt as they've visited us a few times. On mum's side 37 aunts, uncles & cousins, and also 8 second-cousins. Several years ago one of my mum's brothers and his son passed away, but even if they died years ago, it's weird to not name them. And last but definitely not least, my 4 grandparents!

    Have a great Easter weekend!

    Vicky,
You were not kidding. The flight from San Diego to LA(April 8th) was really really small. I sat next to you and you saw that I had to duck down my head since the plane was so bloody small. But our Chat made it much more pleasant. Hope you are having a great time in London.

    You go girl !
