I have two people with whom I would LOVE to have a cuppa tea with: David and Simeon. I have a lot in common with David, and yet those contradictions make him such an interesting man. The question I would have for David would be: “Which Psalm is your favourite, and what were the circumstances surrounding the writing of the Psalm”?

Simeon: “What one piece of wisdom would you pass on to this generation?”

How about I make it quick and list three…
Elijah – I’d ask him how it felt to go through the whole Jezebel ordeal.

David – I’d ask him how it felt to dance before the glory of the Lord.

Esther – I’d ask her how she kept her heart on God during the “beautifcation” process.

i don’t know. random thoughts, but it’s late here…:D

Paul – Tell me more about that trip on the road to Damascus.

Anna- “what was it like to spend your life fasting and praying before the Lord and finally beholding Him face to face?”

Wow, those guys do rock! That is definitely one of the coolest things about traveling (anywhere); you meet so many cool people!

Now about the Bible character thing. Sure, it’s a simple question, but try answering it *without* thinking about it for a bit!

Also, when I first read your question, I somehow missed the part about the one question… I was just picturing sitting down with somebody for a while and shooting the breeze… so I’ll disregard that stipulation. The question I’m answering is who would you like to talk to and why. (Please don’t put me in the penalty box!)

I think it matters where and when we get to meet this person. Of course, once we’re in Heaven, we’ll have all the time in the world (so to speak), and we’ll also have access to many of the people we might be interested in talking to. Because of these things, I’ll assume we’re given the chance to talk to this character in the here and now.

That’s still a tough choice, but I think it would be very interesting to talk to Adam. He was the first created man. Given the fact that he lived before sin and entropy began to really take their toll on the human gene pool, he must be incredibly beautiful and intelligent. (Of course, the intelligence has a greater impact on how interesting the conversation might be.) Also, Adam walked physically near to God in the garden. What an amazing experience that must have been! Finally, there is so much confusion (I think particularly for men in our society) about the meaning of masculinity. Since Adam is about as close as you’re going to get to the original design, I figure he’s probably a pretty good model of what we as men were intended to be like. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a bit of a Renaissance man of sorts (if you can say that about someone born before the Renaissance), but I guess that remains to be seen. I doubt he’d be very macho. :o)

(Of course, I had a few other thoughts on this, but I’m trying to keep it short this time!) LOL

I’m doing a Beth Moore study on Daniel ATM and it is brilliant. I’m enamored by Daniel and how God spoke to him… lifted him to positions of greatness even though he didn’t bow to the Babylonian mentality. Love to ask him what he thought the meanings of all his ‘later’ dreams were… It’s awesome to see how some of them have been and are being fulfilled today.

Ok, I don’t want to be a cheater, so I’ll answer the original question. Like others have said here, it would be difficult to pick just one person and one question. However, here’s one.

I’d like to ask Mary what it was like for her being the mother of Jesus. I’d like to hear her tell her story.

I have a lot of favorite Bible characters, but there is I would like to talk with who is by no means my favorite. I would like to ask one single question of Judas Iscariot: Why?

As for more positive characters, I would want to see the Apostle John sometime between the Revelation and his death. I have one or two questions for him…
