Glory to God Forever – ‘most new adds’ at radio!

Picture 4

I saw this today and thought I’d share with you how encouraged I am!

Really means a lot to see people embracing the song that Steve Fee and I co-wrote :)

Thanks for all the emails and twitters about how you are using it in your churches too. I’m so excited that it is resourcing your worship times and that people are enjoying using it!

Just curious – do you guys listen to Christian radio? If so which stations and what do you like/dislike about christian radio?

Vicky

We actually have 3 Christian stations locally - all of which are pretty good, even though they are quite different from one another. I wish Christians stations didn't tend to 1) repeat the same songs so often, & 2) tend to react to old songs as though they were cutting edge.

We introduced "Glory to God Forever" already this morning at church, and it went over well. I think it'll be around for a while.

    Congrats!

Just found a 24/7 Christian music station, in my area only via internet: BrightFM!! Too bad I'm not 24/7 on the net;) I guess there is 24/7 Christian radio in Holland, just not in every area.

I'm gonna try to listen to this station whenever I'm online. Yes, try, as I'm used to listen to music that's on the radio for years now, even when I'm online. And changing a habit is not easy...

As far as I know we don't have a Christian radiostation in the area where I live (Friesland, Holland). But sometimes I listen to Xnoizz radio on Sunday night from 11pm till 1am (don't listen till the end though:).

So, no 24/7 Christian radio in Holland so far... not that I know of anyway. Instead, I listen to Sky Radio (secular music) a lot. Every once in awhile I hear a song from a Christian singer like Jordin Sparks (tattoo) or Mary Mary (shackles), the latter is not very new anymore but that doesn't matter at all, and than I turn on the volume! When I wanna listen to Christian songs only... well, glad there are cd's!

You only co-wrote "Glory to God forever" with Steve Fee right, not singing as well? Cause he's coming to Flevo Festival next week and it would be cool if he's gonnna do that song, so I will know what you guys are talking about all the time:) I don't really know his music but when I saw his name on the artist list, I thought: hey, Vicky mentioned his name several times! At least one name I recognize;)
Then I saw a few other names like Bluetree, Salvador, Newsboys and NewWorldSon on the list too. A few bands I know, at least by name. To be honest, the only singer I know better than just the name is Rebecca St. James and she's coming to the festival too!! I think her lyrics are the only one Im able 'to sing along with, pretty sad isn't it?! But that's gonna change! It's one of the main reasons I'm going to this festival: to get to know some more Christian artists and their music!

Okay, now I'm gonna stop rattling!!

    Have a great day Vicky!

In St. Louis we have JoyFM that has the best signal at 97.7 and 94.1. There's also WIBI based not too far from here in Illinois at 91.1. We also, depending on where in the area you're driving, have Air1. unfortunately, none of them play your music. =( But JoyFM's really been pushing Glory to God, so I'm not going to complain too much!

What I LOVE about Christian radio is all the outreach they do in the community and the concerts they throw, plus the lack of commercials and the amazing, positive, uplifting music. I don't like that there's one spot in the city where my car doesn't pick up ANY of the stations because the signals are too weak. =(

    Vicky,

Praise God exciting news! Christian radio stations that I listen to WMBI 90.1, the fish in Milwaukee, and K-LOVE 94:3 in Chicago. Things that like about radio ministries is time that used recharged during the day speakers/christian bands.

    In Christ,

    Nathan
  • I do listen to Christian radio. We only have one 24hr Contemporary Christian station in the area, and that's 88.3 WAFJ in Augusta, GA (http://www.wafj.com). They've been playing "Lord" a lot, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that! haha

I like a lot of the music I hear on Christian radio as a whole, as well as the encouragement and ministering many of the DJ's and staff members bring. Some of my dislikes are peppy jingles and sweepers, and the songs they play that I don't care for. However, I remember that they reach a mass audience, and can sit through a song or change the station for a few minutes in order for it to play and speak to someone else's heart.
