New Music To Check Out!

Front

Hello friends!

Thanks for all your comments about how your weekend went. Fun to hear about it all!

Today I’m writing songs over at EMI Studios. I just took a late lunch break and made a home video in my Jeep. So watch out for that either tonight or tomorrow!

If you are wishing it was Friday and the weekend already, I have something to recommend to help get you through the week with a smile on your face! New music always helps life feels better, so here is my recommendation this week.

Joel and Luke are both great friends of mine and I’ve known them for about 3 years now. They are brothers and come from the "land down under" – Australia! So they have funny accents, similar to mine : )

Ever since I first met them, they’ve been writing AMAZING songs and I’ve been bugging them to finally record and release them on a CD! Well, the brilliant news is – it’s here!

If you want some insight into their "sound" it’s epic and edgy…some rock, some pop…very hooky, very emotive.. and their harmonies are incredible. They are bound for a great future, and I know they will reach a massive audience. So you heard about them here first ; )

You can buy their EP by clicking here  and great news – its only $5.95!

You can also visit their Myspace page, to get a taste of what their songs sound like and see some fun photos and video! www.myspace.com/joelandluke

Let me know what you think if you get it!

Question for you….

"What new music have you heard lately, that you could recommend to our community here?"

Love,
Vicky

    Hi, Vicky!

Thanks for sharing about Joel and Luke’s new project! It’s been a few months since I’ve checked their MySpace. Just took another look, and I’m listening to “Love’s To Blame” and lovin’ it!

Ooh… “Something’s Gotta Give” just came on, and it’s super-sweet!

    I’m definitely getting this EP.

So far as new stuff I could recommend, I’m coming up short a little short. I just got five new albums in the mail this week, but I haven’t gotten time to listen to them enough to have an opinion on them yet. Sometimes I take a little bit to adjust to something new and decide whether or not I like it… :o)

2 newer female mainstream vocalists: 1)Kate Voegele from “One Tree Hill” has an album I like with “No Good” and “Only Fooling Myself”, 2)Idina Menzel from “Wicked” has an album I like with “I Stand” and “Brave”.

3 newer female Christian vocalists: 1)Kathryn Scott who wrote “Hungry” and “At The Foot of the Cross”, love her new album and songs “I Belong” and “Grace Has Called My Name”, 2)Cadia, similar sound to BarlowGirl, really like “Trust In Me Now”, 3)Addison Road, love the song “All That Matters”.

I just bought a few songs on iTunes from an album called “Bethany Presents Deluge(Live)”, and I LOVE them. Deluge is the youth worship team at Bethany Church in Louisiana, so it’s worship music. Really well-produced, the lead worshipper’s voice is awesome, and their sound is anointed. Definitely would recommend it!

“I Belong” by Kathryn Scott. I’m going to use it this Sunday.
Also “Great Redeemer” by Paul Baloche.
    AND I am so loving
“Jesus Come” by Evan Wickam & Calvin Nowell.

My friends are releasing their first album with the Provident label. Tenth Avenue North (www.tenthavenuenorth.com) I think what I love about their music is it speaks to me on such a personal level. You can apply it to your real life, like Mike (lead singer)wrote it just for you. Plus, it’s just great music & great lyrics, which sometimes you get one or the other, but with them I get both time and again. Mike, Jeff, Scott & Jason all have such beautiful hearts and such a genuine love for Christ it penetrates everything they do. Check them out!
