So now YOU can juggle too!!

Hey friends!

Well, so many people seem interested in my juggling hobby and are asking me "How do WE learn to do it! Is it hard??". So here’s me teaching you how to do it!

Let me know if you have success after watching!!!!!

Today I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Nashville, looking at very "English" gray weather, and glad to be warm indoors with a grande americano in my hand. I’m writing a book at the moment, and today is one of my ‘Book Days’…so I’m working on new ideas and chapter headings… Maybe I’ll put some excepts of the book on my Blog in the days to come, to get your feedback!

To inspire my book-writing I’ve been reading a lot the past few days. Mainly a book on St Francis of Assisi, as he is my hero! The book describes Italy in SUCH breath taking language that today I’m dreaming of walking those streets, looking up at the magnificent ancient buildings, feeling the warm sun on my face, and smelling the fresh Italian bread at the market, listening to the sound of ancient church bells ringing in the distant hills… I need to plan a trip to Assisi soon!

My Blog question for you today – If you could be standing anywhere right now (other than where you are!) where would you be??

Peace,
Vicky

Where would I be standing? easy – Main Street USA, in the Magic Kingdom, Disney World – watching the parade with my family. We did this very thing recently and it is one of the sweetest moments of my life.

Yay, maybe now I can teach myself how to juggle (more likely I’ll just hit myself on the head with the balls, or hit my dog with them)!

If I could be anywhere right now, it would be Yemen. I grew up in Yemen (for those who don’t know, Yemen’s a country in the Middle East, right underneath Saudi Arabia), as my parents were missionaries, and I lived there for around 7 yrs. It’s been 4 years since I left and I really miss it there. I would also love to be in Cairo, Egypt right now (lived there for 2 years, I just moved back to the States almost 2 years ago), riding horses around the pyramids. Good times. Maybe after I graduate college, I can go back to Yemen as a medical missionary for two years (I’m going to college next year to get my bachelors degree in nursing).

Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland. I’m pretty sure it’s the most beautiful place on the face of the earth. I keep asking the Lord if He wants us to plant a church there – still waiting on a “yes.”

That’s a tough one…at first I thought somewhere in the New Mexico desert…or maybe even in an Arizona desert near Mesa….then it was the Davis Mountains in Texas…but no…now I know where I’d be….in Yellowstone National Park, hiking a winter trail.

I’m in Knoxville Tn, I see the English-like weather we are having…and it makes me want to hike!

    LOL. Fun stuff, Vicky!

Have we seen any videos you’ve recorded with your new video camera yet, or have both of these been recorded and produced by someone else? I’m looking forward to seeing your “home videos.” :o)

I’m tempted to start learning to juggle in my spare time, but I’m missing a key ingredient… spare time. Ok, we all have some spare, and it’s really just a matter of how we choose to use it! I tend to do a bit of writing, reading (lately it’s much less of this than I’d like), taking photos, recording, hanging with friends, and trying to do something active now and then. It would be fun if I could learn to juggle while rollerblading! Then I’d feel like I was getting a few things done at once. However, I’m afraid I’d wear out my breaks pretty quick as I’d always be stopping and turning around to pick up dropped balls…

Wow. I absolutely love to travel, so the decision of where to go if I wasn’t here is a really tough one! I haven’t been to Asia yet, and a good friend of mine from high school lives in China with his wife and children. I think it would be great to visit them there and stay to help with the work they are doing for a few months at least. You really can’t get the flavor of a place or people group unless you stay around for more than a few days. And besides, you want to make the trip worth it, right? I’d also love to go to Australia and New Zeeland, South America, and even Antarctica for a little while. Now that the smaller aerospace company I worked for got bought out by General Electric, we actually have people in our company who work near the South Pole… and I checked that box in the “willing to travel” section on my yearly review (along with quite a few others). There may be other seasons in life when travel won’t be as easy as it is for me now… best to take advantage of that now… while I still can! :o) Carpe diem!

Oh yeah, and that’s awesome that you’re writing a book. You clearly have a way with words and a lot of good things to say, so I can’t wait to read the book once it’s available. It’ll be great fun to be your guinea pigs for new content here on the blog… :o)

Ah, and one more thing. If you’re getting back to London any time soon, here’s a tidbit that might be of interest… taken from http://www.sacredtravel.org/travelpage.html – “Ryan Air is now flying to Perugia from London Stansted for as little as 40 Euros !!! Perugia airport is only 15 minutes from Assisi by taxi ride !!!!!!!!! ” Also, Rome is a great city which is not incredibly far from Assisi. I got to spend a little over a week in Rome a couple years ago and got to know some of the Church there. I happened to run into some Christian musicians who were playing one night in the square and they invited me for a couple of days to a worship conference they were having. My travel schedule was flexible, so I got to spend a couple of really awesome days there with them. Incredible experience! Italy has such wonderful people! Of course, there are great people everywhere in the world, but I found that especially so during my time there in Rome. I almost took a couple days and rented a moped to ride the Amalfi coast, but I did end up running out of time…

this juggling thing is not a very good hobby for me.

Can u sing and juggle at the same time??

  • Ceci White

    Where would I be?
You made me want one of those freshly baked pizzas that you purchase by weight in Italy. I would probably either be in Nueremberg, or Augsburg, or Regensburg in Germany.. or in Oxford.. or in Childswickham, Worcestershire (www.houseoftheopendoor.org)
Or in Taize, France, worshipping with that crowd (www.taize.fr)

It already sounds like I’m building an itinerary!

My heart has been longing for Europe for a while now. I have a 3 year old little girl, a 1 1/2 year old little girl and am pregnant, so I know I most likely won’t be traveling around there anytime soon. It’s good to have memories!!

Well, as I stare out at even more snow that needs shoveling, I would have to say Jamaica. On the beach with my family, and my dog, enjoying the sun. Oh yeah, did I add the all you can eat buffet? Maybe with some fresh strawberries!
