Sunset Tonight at the Studio!

Isn’t this a beautiful sight?!

I’m so lucky to be recording in such an amazing location. My producer Jonathan MacIntosh and his wife Sarah live high up on a hill. So every day I go to record there, I get to take in the most amazing views. During the day, you can look out one side of the house and see rolling hills for miles, and out the other side is a view of the sparkling ocean. At night, the sun sets are incredible – so I thought I’d snap some photos on my digital SLR as I packed my gear into the car and headed home.

When was the last time you watched the sun set?

Where was your most favorite/memorable sunset ever?

I think mine was when I was 10 years old and visiting my Grandparents in Zimbabwe Africa, where they were missionaries. Africa has the BEST sunsets! The sun looks so huge and as it sets, it looks like the sun is melting into the horizon line, dripping down it’s gold and red light onto the African plains.

One of my goals in life is to watch more sunsets….and to not be so busy that I miss them all! Seeing it is a great reminder that beauty happens every day and we (I!) so often miss it!

How about you?

Love, Vicky

Wow! That is sooo beautiful!! Here in Holland the sunset has colors like orange or pink or a mix of both colors, can be very beautiful as well. Sadly I can't see the sun set all the way cause houses and trees are blocking the view (I can always take my bike and go find a place where I'm able to see the whole sunset ofcourse;)), but to see a part of it is very cool too! The last time I watched the sun set was last thursday, the first night at Flevo Festival. There was thundering and lightning and it was raining a bit. The sky was amazing! Very orange, very cool! That moment I wished I had my camera with me, but I left it in the tent:(

My most favorite sunset was when I was 14 years old. My family and I just moved to a small house behind a cemetery on one of the Dutch isles and one night the sky was so beautiful, I just had to take a photo! The sky was dark blue on top, beautiful pink in the middle and the bottom was a mix of light and dark blue, pink and orange, very cool! I didn't know but at the moment I took the photo, there was a seabird flying precisely on the line between the dark blue and the pink, just a funny detail. There was also a big cross and a few trees, one of them with his branches (right word??) pointing to the left and right. That was my most beautiful sunset!
