I’m not too bothered about stats, lists or scores when it comes to social media…It seems a bit narcissistic to get too concerned by it. But I do think a bit of it is helpful, to see whether you are making a difference in cyberspace or not.
Stats can help you see what IS working/helping people/generating interest, and what is NOT. We need to be eager to learn, as we tweet or blog, to make sure we’re actually saying things that matter and are being read, not just speaking aimlessly to no one!
“Klout” is a very interesting site and tool. It takes all of your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn connections and analyses the data to see what ‘influence score’ you get.
It also tells you what your most ‘influential topics’ are…this can help you know what to keep focussing on in your blogs or tweets, as people are responding positively to it.
