“TWITTER” is amazing!!

So I’ve discovered a new, fun way to Blog during the day… It’s called "Twitter"… Ever heard of it??

I hadn’t really wrapped my head around the concept of it, until yesterday when a friend explained it to me over a Starbucks and I finally understood why everyone is getting so excited about it! "Twitter.com" is a program that lets people send out little Blogs of just a sentence or two, via a cell phone. Genius!

Here’s a photo of me with my trusty little pink Motorola Razor phone!! Twitter lets you text out a few sentences about what you are doing, during the day. You can read mine on my Blog in the "Twitter Updates" section, or better still by going to Twitter.com and signing up for a free account…then you can get mine and other great folks’ Blog-ettes sent to your cell phone as text messages!…How cool is technology now!?

I signed up yesterday night and am already receiving various people’s Twitter messages to my cell phone…Its a great way to be connected. For example, I might text prayer requests like "Backstage at a concert and about to play. Pray for me!" Or something to make you smile like I texted earlier today: "At my eye-brow waxing appointment – OWCH!". So it can be funny or deep… Just a fun way of staying in touch with each other as community on this pathway of following Jesus…

Ephesians 3:6 says we are "members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus". We were never meant to walk this path alone. We are family in Christ, and Psalm 68:5-6 says "God is a father to the fatherless…He sets the lonely in families". Don’t walk alone – lets share life and strengthen one another on the journey of life!

Ah, so that’s how it works! I noticed the new Twitter link on your blog last night and checked out the site. I signed up for an account and subscribed to your – whatever you call it – but it didn’t seem to work for me. Based on what I see there today, I guess that is because you had to approve it before I could see anything. That makes sense.

Also, I like what you pick to update people about… I was just treating it like a MySpace status message (though I’d never really used those before either), so I was just going on there every once in a while and typing in whatever I happened to be doing at the moment… LOL. In my case, yesterday was not exactly fascinating. I’ll have to start trying to have a more interesting life. Perhaps something like, “I’m skydiving” or “I’m juggling fire (and texting on my phone – at the same time)” would be suitable improvements. :o) On the other hand, part of the charm of this site is that little things are interesting too… at least between friends. :o)

…and I do need to check out St Francis of Assisi. I love Rich Mullins and he was huge into St. Francis, so I figure Frank was a pretty cool guy. I just haven’t looked into him much myself yet. Ok, so I just added one more thing to a to-do list that’s already longer than my arm… :o)

wow that seems to be pretty cool, and I’d prolly sign up for this if I had unlimited texting. it’ll happen eventually but I’m just not a big enough texter to spend the money on it. it’s a great idea though.

Anybody know the country code for the US? I want to get texts on my phone, but I have no clue what the country code is…or maybe I’m just missing something *is confused* This is really cool though, another way to use up my 500 minutes a month!

Tremenda herramienta y vaya que te sorprendió encontrarla en esa reunión con tu amigo en starbucks. Como dices el blog es una cosa y el microblogin otra y ahí reside precisamente lo rico de estar presente formalmente y en aquellos momentos en que caminas por la calle.
