Two Things That Inspired Me Today
Two things really inspired me today… so I thought I’d share them both!
I’m packing my cases for Canada here in my apartment, but wanted to blog quickly in between changing guitars strings and figuring out how many teeshirts I need to take for 2 weeks!
The first thing that inspired me today was seeing a totally awesome car…I love old cars… I’d love to own something like this, or maybe an old VW camper van someday… they always make me smile as they look like they have stories to tell from all their travels!
So there are my iPhone shots of the car… You may think I’m crazy if you don’t find that car at all cool… so no worries! : )
This was the second thing that inspired me today… I read a quote by St Francis of Sales:
“You learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying
To run by running, to work by working
And just so, you learn to love by loving
Begin as a mere apprentice
And the very power of love
Will lead you to become a master of the art”
Pretty cool eh?!
What’s been inspiring you lately?
Love,
Vicky

That iPhone makes pretty good shots I must say. The car is cool and I can see why you like it. Throw a guitarcase in the back and hit the road!
I like the quote, it reminds me of just taking it day by day, step by step and just doing instead of holding back because of fear.
I’d been inspired lately by 2 quotes from Alan Hirsch:
‘A great deal more failure is the result of an excess of caution than of bold experimentation with new ideas. The frontiers of the kingdom of God were never advanced by men and women of caution.’
- ‘The Forgotten Ways’
‘If you want to build a ship, don’t summon people to buy wood, prepare tools, distribute jobs, and organize the work, rather teach people the yearning for the wide, boundless ocean.’
first, i love old cars too. my dad has a 65 pontiac GTO sitting in his garage that he will hand down to me some day. we’ve been working on it for years, and it’s a big part of my childhood. you really need to get an old car
second, Luke Doucet & The White Falcon has been inspiring me lately. Blood’s Too Rich is their latest release and I love it love it love it! makes me want to go out and buy an old hollow body gretsch.
Hey hey hey thats my car haha. See it was a good thing you didnt have me standing next to it, it would have ruined the amazingness of the ride. Well it was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and I look forward to seeing you around!
Both were awesome!
Love that car; great job taking those shots with the iPhone! (I’m impressed with your photographic eye *and* with the iPhone.)
Loved that quote too; wow, what a great thought. I’m gonna chew on that one for a while… thanks!

There’s something about that old, musky smell and the sense of stories just begging to rip through its seams. I’m a 16-year-old driving member of society. And I’m looking for an old Chevy ’69-ish pickup that I can throw my guitar in, turn up some tunes, and just drive across painted deserts to sleep under the stars.
If I could tell you of everything that’s inspired me lately… But I’ll cap it at just one. What never ceases to fuel my ponderings is humanity’s ability to acknowledge beauty. Something was crawling up my arm as I sprawled out on the humid grass, staring up into star-stricken cosmos. It almost seems as if the limpid lights flickering against the ash-smothered canvas were made to build a muse… And I can’t help but be inspired by what I can only conclude is God’s display of His incredible love…in His want of us finding brilliant joy through a strange sense of the unexplainable. John 17:24-26. The one and only time Jesus says what He wants, what His heart is longing for is that He wants us to be with Him to see His glory and splendour that the Father’s love for Him may be in us exactly as He is in us. I imagine that our recognition and appreciation of the beautiful is, in part, a fulfillment of this as we see His glory and splendour reflected.
“Pretty cool eh?!” she types proudly. Now that you’ve managed to get our signature “EH!” all figured out, Canada is ready to welcome you with open arms.
haha, but seriously, we’re really stoked about having you come across Canada. I’ll catch up with you in Langley, so see you in a few.
