Vicky Films at TBN Studios

Greetings!

Back in December I played live on TBN’s young adult show “JCTV”. You can watch the live performance in my December blog archive if you missed it.

Last week I went back to TBN and hosted their Countdown Video show “XVZ”. It was a lot of fun!

Here I am getting the run down on how the taping will work… The JCTV gang are so great. Love those guys.

When  you present a TV show, they use a “tele-prompter”. It’s a computer screen that gives you your lines. The director of the show sits with a laptop and sends the lines to the telepromt screen. They roll them at just the right speed, so you can talk naturally and keep reading as the lines keep coming….

So this was my view, looking into the film camera and at the telepromt screen all at once….

I always take a friend whenever I do anything solo… So this is Kristina. If you watched my wisdom teeth video you’ll have seen her on there too! She’s was a faithful friend to take me to the dentist that day!

The “XVZ” video show airs on TBN throughout March. They will run it multiple times, so check it out!

Do you guys watch much “Christian TV”? If so what channels do you like? I’m curious…

  • Hey, lady. I stumbled across your blog on one of my "recommended reads" on Google blogger. I'm glad I did! I remember a while back you mentioning about using your theology education to raise the bar on conversations.

I'm totally supportive. Go for it. I think it's good for God to kick us in the pants with a good challenge on who He is. Why get stagnant? We'll have an eternity discovering such an amazing God, but good theology now will quake foundations and build them strong.

    Bring it!

Hey Vicky! I go with Jonathan Paul and Nathan when they say Kristina did a great job! As far as I know there's only one Christian organization here in the Netherlands which airs all kinds of shows and sometimes movies too, and it airs on 3 different channels, not 24/7 though. Maybe you've heard about the EO Youth Day? Well, the EO is the organization I'm talking about. The EO is also broadcasting Christian music, that radio channel is called: X-Noizz..

To be honest, I barely watch Christian TV, or listen to Christian radio. Sometimes I watch one of the talkshows of the EO, but most of the time I watch secular TV and listen to secular radio or CDs like yours, RSJ and Todd Agnew. Maybe I should watch and listen to Christian TV and radio more... Anyway, I'm attending X-Noizz Flevofestival this summer so from now on I will listen to X-Noizz radio a lot more, maybe I'll recognize a few songs at the festival then!

Very cool pictures! I don't watch a lot of TV but I do enjoy EWTN.

No... when I was 6 I turned on some Christian station just as the pastor yelled, "...and I saw the DEVIL in MY BACK YARD!" I was little, so I spent the next hour or so looking out my back window, terrified! I was afraid to go outside alone for a few days because I kept imagining the devil and other monsters coming and taking me!

That pretty much did it for me and Christian TV!! (I am no longer afraid of back yards, though!)

    Vicky,

That looks like a lot of fun your friend Kristina did a great job with capturing the TBN visit. I watch some Christian TV, 700 club, ION has worship channel, most of the time I use GodTube or YouTube to stream Christian media.

  • Hey, thanks for the virtual tour! I really enjoyed it, and it reminded me of the time you showed us around the place when you went in to the writers studio in Nashville – I think at your record label? Anyway, I think Kristina did a great job with the pics. It must be fun for her to tag along on these trips, getting to see all of the cool things without any of the pressure! :o) Of course you're good at this kind of stuff and so you had lots of fun too.

I don't really ever watch TV per se (Christian or secular); I've never owned one and didn't grow up with one. I do catch something occasionally on Hulu or Netflix now and then, but not often. I've enjoyed some events remotely via GodTV/GodTube as well. It'd be fun to check out your episode; do you know if it'll be available in any format online?
