Today was a great day (except for my Laptop dying…hopefully the Mac store can resurrect it!!)

Here is another little home video shot for you guys…Today the Fedex truck brought me a present from one of my sponsors, “Line 6″…Hooray! I thought I would show you me opening the package and seeing what they gave me!

Line 6 make all kinds of cool guitar pedals, amps etc. Today they shipped me a “Variax” guitar, which models different guitar sounds, such as nylong strung classical, 12 string, jumbo and even simulates different tunings without touching the tuning pegs! I will show you more about it when I have had a chance to sit down and figure out all the cool features! Thank you to my mate Darrell and all the crew at www.Line6.com : )

Its nearly the weekend folks! Friday night I’m playing in Kentucky as part of the “SHE Tour” that I am on this Spring (See www.sheevent.com). The line up is Rebecca St James, Evie (her mentor), Joel and Luke (an Aussie duo) and me! Pray that the first night goes well and that God really shows us and touches lives…

I will leave you with a question, as that has become a tradition already!

my favorite book of the Bible has to be Psalms… hands down there… I am a worshipper… and so I love to read the Psalms… they are also great to read because they have so many promises in them…

and you can discover so much of God and His character in Psalms :) His majesty, His might… His gentleness and His Warrior force… truly an amazing God we serve :)

Favorite book of the Bible? Tough question! I’ve never been much of one to pick favorites… usually I like so many things that it’s hard to pick one of them out. I guess this applies – to some degree at least – to my outlook on the books of the Bible.

Also, you know that feeling you have when you’re at school that you aren’t doing enough studying? Maybe some people don’t get that, but if I was doing something other than studying, I’d always feel like I *ought* to be studying instead. I guess I have that same feeling about my knowledge of the Bible. I feel like I *ought* to know it better. Growing up in the church, there is a certain amount you absorb by default, but there is a part of me that thinks (or perhaps knows) that I could do better when it comes to my own personal disciplined study of scripture. Of course, this sort of feeling *can* be good if it spurs positive change… :o)

My immediate family has done a bit of scripture memorization together over the years, and there are certainly favorites I have among those verses. One of those would be in Matthew 5 – where Jesus talks to the crowd about how what is in our heart is just as important as our actions.

I guess some of my favorites are the Psalms, the wisdom books, and so many of the stories… Joseph, Esther, Moses, Jonah, … They are both a comfort and an inspiration!

Also, I might be the worst person in the world for coming up with a quick answer on the spot… I like to sit down and think things through, look through my notes, and carefully consider. :o) “Ah, this was a good one. Oh, that was great! …” Etc, etc. Sadly, I have no notes with me to consider… Happily, I think I’m finally tired enough to go to bed.

Tough call. Lately I’ve been lovin Daniel. It’s got a little bit of everything: exciting narrative, prophecy, and a great example to follow. Plus, part of it was written in Hebrew, part of it in Aramaic. Am I the only person that thinks it’s awesome that the original manuscript was written in 2 different languages?

Well, as a theology student, I have to go with Romans (and Hebrews in a close second), since these are the two most sustained/developed theological treatises in the NT. However, we probably should be picking one of the gospels, but it is hard to single out one. John is a fave because it is the most contemplative, but then you would miss out on numerous of Christ’s teachings only found in the synoptics.

I would have to go with Exodus. I mean who can resist Moses, and God shows Himself in ways that are so touching. I could go on for days, but when Moses asks to see God, and God puts him in the cleft of the rock and covers him with His hand until He passes by so Moses can see His back! And, snif, before Moses dies, God shows him the promise land that He will never cross into, shows God’s mercy that even when we cause our own defeats, God still cares about those losses. THEN God Himself buries Moses! That is our God!
Not to mention The tabernacle is just full of forshadows of Jesus. The mercy seat with the cherubim is just like Jesus laying in the tomb with the two angels on either side. Oh my goodness I am excited now.

I’m really liking the book of Nehemiah at the moment, I dont know about an all time favorite maybe Hebrews or James.

that is a pretty sweet guitar, not a huge fan of line 6 guitars tho. the simulated tuning is a bit strange, tell me if you lose the acoustic reverb when you use it please…!

I’m no theologian, and it probably shows. I always turn to Psalms when nothing else seems to “fit”. There’s always a message there that God seems to use to speak to me. If you ask for a New Testament book, I’d probably pick John or Acts.

My favorite book of the bible is Esther, because it tells the story of a young woman who against all odds was able to do great and mighty things for God’s people. When I’m in need of a little courage, I flip there and am encouraged to take those bold steps for the sake of Christ.

I’m also very found of Psalms, James and Ephesians.

These comments are great… Always fun to talk about favorite Bible books! Well I made it back from Kentucky and the SHE show last night and am catching up on Blogging!

The T5 was only a loan guitar… so I dont have it anymore… the Variax seems to have a lot more features..especially the alternative tuning ability.. so I’m excited to figure it out!!
