I have a hard time picking favorites, but… just shooting from the hip, I might pick one of any number of things from C.S. Lewis (Till We Have Faces is amazing) and the complete short stories of Mark Twain (yes, it’s a single bound book).

War and Peace – To keep me warm at night, because I still can’t finish that book (so it might as well be firewood).
A Dr. Seuss Collection – I’m sure I’ll go crazy on an island anyway and memorizing those would get me there faster.

I love Martin’s revised answer! I think he is the smart one of the bunch. I would take a Beth Moore book- Just don’t ask me to choose, and Gone With the Wind. Not only because it is a very good book, but it is a very long book!

I would have to pick;

Slaughter House 5, Kurt Vonegut
Because then I would always be reminded of how to float through time.

Catcher in the Rye
Simply because if I could be any character in a book I would most likely pick Holden.

I guess the 2 books I would choose to take with me are:

Jesus Freaks 1 & Jesus Freaks 2 by dcTalk
These 2 changed my life and challenged me to not only be willing to die for Christ but far more to live for Him as well.

Well at the moment I am reading the Hevenly Man about Brother Yung in China. If I had to be stranded as of tomorrow I would take that one as I am hooked on his story and would have to finish it! Otherwise one of the chronicals of narnia books as I can read them again and again and something else. There are too many choices! Books are such a marvellous invention!

Sounds like a fun weekend to come!

I would take “The Holiness of God” by R.C. Sproul and “Justification and Regeneration” by Charles Leiter. They’re the only non-Bible literature that I’ve actually enjoyed reading, not to mention I’ve learned a LOT from them.

To be stranded on an island with no one but me and God, I would desire to have books that deal with the important questions: “Who is God and what has He done for me through His grace?”
