A week ago I was in London, filming my EPK video! An EPK is short for “electronic press kit” and is a video that gives people insight into who a someone is….so I hope it gives you a bit more insight into where I’m from and what I’m all about!

Video producer Andy Hutch from the UK is currently editing and finishing the actual video… But for right now here is a ‘behind the scenes’ video that my manager Wendy and I shot on my Flip camera throughout the day.. Hope you enjoy it!

Quick update on the 3 song E.P. It was going to come out on Feb 9th but we’ve pushed it to Feb 16th for some online/digital reasons… so even though we’ll have to wait one extra week, it’ll be worth it I promise! So… Feb 16th… I can’t wait for you to hear it

Hope you’re week is going well!

Great news – on February 7th I’ve been invited to lead worship at Rob Bell’s church, Mars Hill in Grand Rapids. I’m really looking forward to it. Recently they had my friend Stu G from Delirious leading there…so it sounds like early 2010 is the ‘British Invasion’ of Michigan!

Rob’s work is really excellent stuff. If you haven’t dived into his material, check out the NOOMA video series…

I got interested in Rob’s work during the Delirious “Worship Revolution” tour a couple of years ago. Stu G (lead guitarist) and Jon Thatcher (bass player) were really into his writings and podcasts. So often we would listen to the podcast on the bus or in the green room, when we weren’t busy sound checking or setting up gear. They got me into Velvet Elvis, and another of his books, SexGod.

Looking forward to Feb 7th.

Hi friends!

Yesterday I spent the day in central London with a camera crew and my manager Wendy, filming a video piece to go with my new EP and album! It was bucketing down with rain, under a grey cloudy sky… so it’ll look very legitimately British! We started off inside St Mary’s Church, a beautiful, tall church built in the early 1800s near Marble Arch and Marylebone in the heart of Westminster. We filmed the stories behind the songs on the album there. Then after grabbing sandwiches we piled into Wendy’s car and drove around the city center with both camera men hanging out the windows filming the city in motion!

We parked near the River Thames and got footage of me chatting about themes on the album and about life in general. The rain didn’t stop so I pulled out my black and white polka dot umbrella! We filmed the London Eye and the Houses Of Parliament, then drove into the dark and very heart-breaking area of Soho – it has been London’s prostitution district for the past 400 years.

I got out of the car with the camera crew and we captured the explicit and devastating nature of those streets. I shared thoughts with the camera on worship and justice and my passion to see human trafficking ended. We ventured down some very dark, small alleyways lined with prostitutes and pimps. My heart was racing when we got accosted by one of them and told to stop filming as what was going on was private and not to be documented. It was scary and we felt pretty vulnerable…but I am so glad we were able to go there and let our hearts be even more deeply broken by what goes on behind closed doors. Worship and justice MUST go hand in hand – one of the songs on the new album is all about that…so my decision to shoot some film in Soho was one I’m still glad I did.

Watch out for the video! We’ll post some “Flip camera” B roll in the next week or so to give you a taste of what the full version will look like!

Every now and then I recommend new music for you – so here is some music I think you’ll like!

My friend Carlos Whittaker got signed to my new label Integrity at the same time as me. So we are team-mates on the journey of being signed, and recording our records! His 3 track EP comes out a week or so before mine (his on Jan 26th, mine on February 9th). Then both of our full-length albums come out in the Spring. Hey there! Greetings from England… It’s been a great night. My Telecaster guitar sold, so I’m excited it’s going to a great new home. Also I just got this message from my sponsor child in Mexico City! The only problem is that somehow it didn’t get translated – so I need someone who speaks more Spanish than I do to help translate? Over Christmas I did a stock take of what gear I’ll be using on the road in 2010, and I made a decision about one of my guitars. It’s the new Telecaster I got only a few months ago. I love it, but it’s just TOO HEAVY for me! It’s not unusually heavy…just regular tele weight….but I’ve got so used to my hollow White Falcon that now I want to sell the Tele and buy something lighter…Us girls are tough, but maybe we might need guitars a bit lighter than this one!!

So it’s for sale! I put it on Ebay to make it simple… here’s the link:

It’s an exciting day… I get to unveil my EP cover! The EP is a limited edition, three track CD that will be available on FEBRUARY 9th! Here is the cover….

I’ll be sharing snippets of info about the three EP songs between now and the release…so watch this space.

We will also have a competition, when once you’ve purchased the EP (either from iTunes, my merchandise table on the road, or in a store) you can enter a draw to win some really cool stuff… More on that soon!
